On Friday, April 27, 2007, Richland Township
Fire Department staged a mock disaster at Gull Lake High School.
Richland Township Firefighter Katie Smit coordinated the event
and enlisted volunteers from Ross/Augusta Fire Dept., Richland
and Augusta Village Police, PrideCare Ambulance Service,
Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Dept. and Farley-Estes & Dowdle
Funeral Home, as well as the Richland Township Fire Department.
The purpose of the event was to heighten awareness to the
hazards of drinking and driving as we enter into the
Prom/Graduation season.
